WHAT IS A FINANCIAL MODEL?

A financial model is simply a spreadsheet that forecasts a business’s financial performance into the future. Based on the company’s historical performance and assumptions about the future, a financial model outputs an income statement (P&L), a balance sheet and a cash flow statement, to assist business decision making.
